Would you like to learn how to identify your own sustainability-related values and develop your actions based on them? Are you looking for a practical way to strengthen your sustainability skills, both individually and together with others?
Welcome to a course that brings sustainability knowledge and action to the level of everyday life! The course is based on the GreenComp competence framework and invites you to explore your personal relationship with sustainability.
You will reflect on your own thinking and actively practice sustainability actions, both independently and collaboratively. Based on the GreenComp framework, the course covers topics such as sustainability values, complexity of sustainability, envisioning sustainable futures, and taking action for sustainability.
The course is delivered entirely online and completed through independent study.
The course is based on the European GreenComp framework for sustainability competences (2022). It is structured into four modules, each corresponding to one of the GreenComp competence areas:
- Embodying sustainability values
- Embracing complexity in sustainability
- Envisioning sustainable futures
- Acting for sustainability
Each module includes learning materials that you are expected to study during the course. Based on these materials, each module features a variety of assignments. In addition, the course includes one larger assignment that begins in the first module and concludes in the final one.
After completing the course, you will
- Understand the GreenComp sustainability competence framework
- Be able to assess your own sustainability mindset using the GreenComp framework.
- Be able to evaluate your own sustainability actions based on the GreenComp framework.
- Initiate sustainability action both individually and in collaboration with others
This is a continuously available (non-stop) course, and you can enroll at any time. You will study independently at your own pace.
Passed: You have studied the GreenComp framework and carried out an impact action based on the course materials and completed the required assignments on Moodle.
Fail: You did not study the GreenComp framework, did not build sufficient sustainability competence, or did not complete the required assignments on Moodle.
Note that this course will begin on 1.9.2025.
