Online studies
You will automatically find the course in Moodle once you have been accepted to the course (within about 24 hours of acceptance). Please be patient. If the course does not appear on the Moodle front page, you can search for it separately. Also check other pages in Moodle. Access to the course is not possible without official registration.
Were you not accepted for online studies? If you are a student at Tampere University, your study rights may have expired. So, reapply through the Service for Cross-Institutional Studies and make sure that your study rights are valid for a sufficient period of time and enroll the course the course again.
Our online courses are designed to be studied independently, so you can complete the course in a time that suits you. However, it is worth completing the tasks in such a way that the subject areas remain in memory. Also note that you complete the course well in advance of graduation.
The completions of the course will be checked within two weeks after the last return, after which the credits will be awarded. The credits should appear in Pakki immediately and during the next day in Sisu.
Note that during holiday seasons (example christmas and summer) there is longer delays to get the credits.
General questions
When a HUBS coach has recorded your credits in Sisu (TAU) or Pakki (TAMK), they will automatically transfer by the next day.
HUBS courses are evenly distributed between these two student information systems (Sisu and Pakki). Due to the transition phase of cross-institutional studies (especially in late autumn 2025), credits may occasionally fail to transfer. If your credits have not transferred automatically to your home institution’s system within 24 hours of being recorded, you will need to apply for credit recognition.
You can find more information about credit recognition in this announcement: The practices of cross-institutional studying have changed – here’s what it means for HUBS courses – HUBS
If you recognize that the issue is not related to cross-institutional studies, you can contact the responsible coach of the course.
Additionally, make sure that you have added the course to your personal study plan. Your study counsellor/study coordinator can assist you with this.
Hopefully the issue will be resolved!
Basically, all HUBS courses are evaluated on a scale of passed – failed. The evaluation criteria is always published with the course info in the HUBS website’s study calendar and in Pakki.
In the basic information on the course there is always information about where the study course is carried out. Basically, HUBS offers either 100 % online or contact teaching courses on campus. Since the courses on campus are based on team learning and interactive dialogue, you cannot participate in them remotely.
Since the contact teaching courses are based on team learning and interactive dialogue, 100 % attendance is highly recommended. However, if there are necessary absences, always contact the coach responsible for the course and your own team in advance.
If you have such a situation, always agree on practical matters with the course coach.
A student at Tampere University can form a Sustainable Entrepreneurship module/minor (TAU.YHT.KEYR) from HUBS studies when at least 20 credits have been completed. The credits must come from at least two HUBS courses (Building an Entrepreneurial Portfolio course alone is not sufficient).
Student instructions for the application and evaluation process
- First, submit an application in Sisu for the module TAU.YHT.KEYR Sustainable Entrepreneurship as content (“Application for the content of a module requiring separate approval”). List the HUBS studies you have completed (or plan to complete) in the application.
- Your application will be sent for approval, and once it is approved, you can submit a request for the evaluation of the module in Sisu according to your own schedule, but well in advance of graduation.
