The practices of cross-institutional studying have changed – here’s what it means for HUBS courses
The cross-institutional study practices of Tampere higher education institutions are changing: Starting today, students will apply for studies through their home institution’s study information system. The use of the external cross-institutional study service will be discontinued.
This page will be updated as we receive more information and/or questions related to the topic.
As of November 2025, degree and exchange students of Tampere University, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, and the Police University College will be part of the Cross-Institutional Study Network. This means that the use of the external cross-institutional study service (ristiinopiskelu.tuni.fi) will be discontinued.
From now on, you can register for HUBS courses through your own study information system (Sisu for the university, Pakki for TAMK).
HUBS courses are evenly distributed between these two study information systems. The cross-institutional study network is used when you register for a course that is not available in your home institution’s study information system.
Example: A Tampere University student wants to take the HUBS online course Foundations of Entrepreneurship, which is listed in Tampere University of Applied Sciences’ Pakki system. With the new cross-institutional study network, the student can now find the course directly in Sisu (see the section “Instructions for using the cross-institutional study network”).
HUBS courses available in Tampere University’s Sisu system:
- Building an Entrepreneurial Portfolio, 1–20 cr
- HUBS Pre-Incubator, 5 cr
- Health Innovation Challenge, 5 cr
- Health Technology and Life Science Business, 5 cr
HUBS courses available in Tampere University of Applied Sciences’ Pakki system:
- All HUBS online courses, including The Cornerstones of Entrepreneurship (5 cr), Sustainability Thinking and Action (5 cr), and 10 x 1-credit courses from the 24H Online library
- Sprint Innovation Festival (3-5 cr)
- Future Board Practices (5 cr)
You can view the full course offering in the HUBS Study Calendar!
Instructions for using the cross-institutional study network
You can find the best guidance and support in the Intranet of the Tampere Higher Education Community:
Registrations made through the old cross-institutional study service will still be transferred to your study information system during the autumn semester of 2025. Therefore, if you have registered for a course through that service, we recommend completing it by 5.12.2025 to ensure the credits are recorded for the 2025 academic year and before the old cross-study service is closed.
If you complete the course in 2026, you will need to apply for credit transfer for those studies. We will update this information later in the autumn.
