Ideation in Practice
Multidisciplinary team skills | Sustainable Entrepreneurship Studies (TAU.YHT.KEYR)
What does ideation mean? How can ideation be done in practice? In this course, you’ll get to dive into the world of ideation together with students from different fields!
You will learn to understand the stages of ideation, explore a variety of methods, and try them out in practice in a multidisciplinary student group. This course is suitable for all students interested in developing their ideation skills and creativity. All you need is an open mind!
You can now register for the 3rd period implementation from 15.1.-12.2.2026 (English-speaking group). Registration for the 4th period implementation will open after mid-February.
The course is carried out in person (three sessions). The maximum number of participants is 25 students. Remote participation is not possible. The course is offered in English during the third period and in Finnish during the fourth period.
In this course, you’ll get to explore the basics of ideation as well as inspiring tools. You will practice different ideation methods and learn how to apply them in practice.
By completing this course…
- You have become familiar with ideation and understand the different stages of the ideation process
- You know various techniques and tools related to ideation
- You are able to apply the stages and tools of ideation in practice
Third period (English-language group, but everyone is welcome!)
The course consists of three in-person sessions on the Tampere University of Applied Sciences campus (TAMK).

- Independent working time (own project)

Fourth period (Finnish-speaking group)
- On-site meeting: 24.3.2026 at 13:00–15:00, ROOM TO BE UPDATED CLOSER TO THE DATE (at TAMK).
- On-site meeting: 31.3.2026 at 13:00–15:00, TAMK Laavu C1-24a
- Independent working time (own project)
- In-person session: 14.4.2026 at 13:00–15:00, TAMK Laavu C1-24a
Passed, when you have demonstrated familiarity with ideation and completed your own independent project based on what you learned in the course. In addition, you have participated in the in-person sessions and completed the required assignments on the Moodle platform.
Failed, when you have not familiarized yourself with ideation or completed your independent project. You have not participated in the in-person sessions or completed the required assignments on the Moodle platform.
