Navigating Entrepreneurship: Anton & Ozan’s story from Stuttgart
Yet another year, HUBS has chosen 10 bright TAMK students for the Entrepreneurial Experience 2023 Programme. Join Anton & Ozan as they dive into the journey of learning to build a business in a creative environment!
The writers, Anton & Ozan, were participant in Entrepreneurship Experience 2023.
When we first heard about the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Stuttgart, Germany, we knew it was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up. Despite being software engineers by profession, we were drawn to the prospect of not only learning about entrepreneurship but also immersing ourselves in a new city, culture, and, most importantly, connecting with people from diverse backgrounds.
Stuttgart, a lovely city that lies in south-west Germany, is a city that has a unique landscape, efficient transportation system, vibrant nightlife, and many delicious food spots. It served as the backdrop for an unforgettable experience that went far beyond just business education.
Welcomed with Warmth
Upon our arrival, we were greeted with open arms by the supervisors and teachers who would guide us through this transformative journey. We were also introduced to our fellow participants from Netherlands and Germany.
In the beginning, the prospect of spending one week with strangers can be intimidating. The shyness and apprehension we felt were only natural. We couldn’t help but wonder: what if we don’t find meaningful connections or people to hang out with? Would the experience be dull?
Our adventure took an unexpected turn when we embarked on a trip to the quaint German village of Pfronstetten. For three nights, we found ourselves completely disconnected from the internet – a challenge in today’s hyper-connected world.
Was it challenging? Absolutely.
However, these conditions pushed us out of our comfort zones and compelled us to engage with one another. To satisfy our need for human connection and entertainment, we had to converse, share stories and entertain with each other. We became kind of a countryside family, spending our time together, laughing, forging new friendships, inventing inside jokes, cooking meals, gathering around bonfires each evening, going on hikes, taking in the breathtaking sights, and reliving our childhoods on a playground. It was an incredibly fun and unique experience that brought us all closer together.
Our journey through the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Stuttgart was not just about learning the ins and outs of entrepreneurship; it was about personal growth, cultural enrichment, and forging new connections with people from different walks of life.
The Entrepreneurial Education
Simultaneously, the bootcamp offered a schedule of workshops led by supervisors and teachers from Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United States. The topics covered were not only engaging but also highly practical. After each workshop, we were tasked with assignments related to the startup ideas we had initially chosen to work on. These tasks required us to brainstorm, solve complex problems, and work collaboratively as a team.
To conclude, our journey through the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Stuttgart was not just about learning the ins and outs of entrepreneurship; it was about personal growth, cultural enrichment, and forging new connections with people from different walks of life. This experience has expanded our horizons, both professionally and personally. It goes to show that sometimes, the most unexpected adventures yield the most rewarding outcomes.
