Protect your ideas – Basics of IPR
Commercializing a Product or a Service | Developing an idea | Sales and Marketing | Strategic Thinking
Are you interested in entrepreneurship, startups, or developing your own idea? A good idea alone is not enough – you also need to know how to protect inventions, brands, and content. Intellectual property rights (IPR) are a key part of modern business.
Tampere Universities are part of the IPR University Center, through which students and staff have access to courses, webinars, and events on intellectual property rights.
Begin with these courses:
IPR is the new black (2 credits)
A self-paced online course introducing the basics of intellectual property rights: patents, trademarks, copyrights, and their significance in business. The course is open year-round and is particularly suited to those interested in entrepreneurship and innovation.
IPR for researchers (3 credits)
There is also a course aimed at researchers, focusing on intellectual property rights related to research. This course will be most likely offered again during the next academic year.
More advanced courses in IPR law will also be offered later.
At present, credits are recognised in accordance with each faculty’s own guidelines. Please contact the unit responsible for your studies, for example your education specialist.
Later, the courses will also be available through the cross-institutional study network.
