Are you interested in entrepreneurship, startups, or developing your own idea? A good idea alone is not enough – you also need to know how to protect inventions, brands, and content. Intellectual property rights (IPR) are a key part of modern business.
The Tampere Universities community is a member of the IPR University Center, which provides students and staff with courses, webinars, and events on intellectual property rights.
- IPR is the New Black 2.0 (2 ECTS)
- Self-paced online course introducing the basics of intellectual property rights: patents, trademarks, copyrights, and their significance in business.

- Intellectual Property: Skills and Research Orientations for Doctoral Students – workload approximately 5 hours
- Advanced Trademark Law (5 ECTS) – University of Eastern Finland
- Advanced Copyright Law (5 ECTS) – University of Helsinki
- Advanced Patent Law (5 ECTS) – University of Lapland
- Intellectual Property Rights and Research (3 ECTS) – University of Jyväskylä
